King Grishmak Blood-Drinker is the King of the werewolves. He wears a gold collar to show his status and is described to be larger than average werewolves.
In the first book, he becomes allies with Thirrin Freer Strong-in-the-Arm Lindenshield.
Grishmak is first seen attacking Thirrin Freer Strong-in-the-Arm Lindenshield in the woods. After he pins her down, Thirrin demands him to kill her on the front so people did not see a wound on her back that made it appear she had run away from the fight. For some reason, Grishmak backs away and then leaves, sparing the princess. After King Redrought learns that he was withing the borders of The Icemark, he orders that he was to be found and killed. However, when he was actually brought before the king, Thirrin spares his life in return for him sparing hers. Believing Thirrin to be a good leader, Grishmak allies himself with the Icemark. Throughout the series, he proves to aid Thirrin wonderfully. He also suggests to Cressida that she should go and help her mother at the battle and she and this suggestion saved everyones' life.
- Stuart Hill said in an interview he based Grishmak on Brian Blessed.
